Originally from Northern Nigeria, it's sold by roadside vendors known as the mai suya and is beloved across the continent. Our Yaji Suya blend brings that same authentic flavour straight to your barbecue.

Our All Purpose Yaji is your everyday seasoning — versatile enough for marinades, dry dips, seasoning meat, fish and vegetables. Our Yaji Suya is specifically crafted as a marinade for suya, barbecue and grilling, with the addition of peanuts the traditional way. Bolder, richer and built for the grill.

Mix your Yaji Suya with a little oil — vegetable, sunflower or groundnut oil all work well — until you have a thick paste. Coat your meat, cover and refrigerate for at least an hour, or overnight for maximum flavour. Then grill, barbecue or oven cook as normal.

As a guide, one to two teaspoons per portion is a good starting point. But honestly — Yaji is forgiving. Add more if you want bolder flavour, less if you're new to it. There's no wrong answer.

Our Yaji Suya contains peanuts and locust beans and is not suitable for individuals with peanut or legume allergies. It may also contain traces of nuts, sesame and gluten. Our All Purpose Yaji contains locust beans and may not be suitable for those with legume allergies. Always check the label before use.
