Our Story
At T&H Yaji, everything started at home.
We’ve always loved bringing people together over food especially BBQ. Weekends meant grills on, music playing, and friends and family gathered around, sharing good food and even better moments. But what always stood out wasn’t just the meat or the fish, it was the flavour.
Every time we cooked, we used our Yaji. The same authentic spice blend, handmade in Kaduna, Northern Nigeria, and sent over to us in the UK. We used it to marinate, to season, and as a dry dip and without fail, people would take one bite and stop.
“Wait… what is this?”
They’d ask where we got it, how it was made, and if they could buy some. Some even started taking small portions home. Over time, it became clear, this wasn’t just another spice. It was something people hadn’t experienced before.
The truth is, you couldn’t just find this kind of Yaji in the UK. The real thing, properly made, deeply flavoured, and rooted in Northern Nigerian tradition was missing.
And that’s how T&H Yaji was born.
We decided to share what we already loved. To take something that had always been part of our table and make it available to others without losing its authenticity. Our Yaji is still inspired by that same traditional preparation from Kaduna, made with care, using natural ingredients, and delivering that bold, unforgettable flavour.

How we make it
There are no shortcuts in our kitchen, and there never will be.
Every batch of T&H Yaji starts with organically grown ingredients, carefully handpicked and freshly sourced directly from Kaduna, Northern Nigeria. No warehouses. No compromise.
Our blends are put together using traditional Hausa methods, the same techniques behind one of Africa's most beloved street foods. No preservatives. No artificial colours. No fillers. Just pure, natural ingredients, crafted in small batches to guarantee quality every single time.
We currently only make two blends. Our All Purpose Yaji is your everyday spice, perfect for seasoning, marinades and dipping. Our Yaji Suya is built for barbecue and grilling, use it as a dry rub or mix with oil for a rich wet marinade, just the way suya has always been made.
